Kimono Gift Set: Ihoan

-An original vintage kimono, handpicked in Japan. Long, flowing, silky and fully lined. Featuring a print reminiscent of the beautiful chaniwa garden in the grounds of Kyoto’s Kodaiji Temple. Weaving through serene pine and maple trees then passing through the bamboo grove leads you to Ihoan (aka the Cottage of Lingering Fragrance), a hut for tea ceremonies. It was the favourite tea house of Haiya Shoeki, a wealthy merchant, and Yoshino Dayu, a renowned beauty and dancer who later became Shoeki’s wife.

-A vintage obijime belt, woven in coordinating colours.

-A binchotan charcoal eye mask. Made in Wakayama, Japan, this sumptuous eye mask is lined with binchotan-infused cotton, to help mitigate the appearance of puffiness and eye bags. Binchotan is a premium activated charcoal that has been revered in Japan for centuries, due to its natural purifying and detoxifying properties. The body is made from softly padded silky satin with adjustable straps for a perfect fit. Great for relaxation, meditation, airplane travel and restful sleep.

Kimonos are usually rather formal-wear but you can treat this piece as the most luxurious loungewear: a ‘komon’ or everyday kimono, or ‘nemaki’ aka sleepwear.
