Woodfired Soup Bowl with Handle

These beautiful ceramic bowls are handmade. The unusual firing in a wood kiln gives the bowl its earthy, scorched colour and tactile, raw-grained surface.

This pared-back modern-rustic-vibe speaks to us of British Country Kitchen style, Shaker, Utilitarian and Japanese influences. The handle is designed to sit over your hand as you 'cup' and drink from the bowl.

Each piece when it comes out of the kiln has subtle differences in flashing, light ash deposits and glaze, all dependent on how the flame has passed by and between the work.
