A beautiful and timeless piece by contemporary Japanese ceramicist Takahiro Manome.
Originally trained as a sculptor, Manome works from a mountainside studio in Kasama, a renowned pottery town in Japan.
He has handcrafted these ceramic vases in a particularly special way: a raw clay fired at a high temperature, with markings created by seashells. Balanced with the smooth, organic form, it brings a warm feeling to his work, a presence of nature in the home.
Manome’s signature ‘bird in flight’ motif conveys a sense of gentleness and calm. Use as a vase for dried stems, or as a decorative candleholder.
Each piece is handcrafted and unique and will have slightly different markings depending upon its position in the kiln.
