The kiku, or chrysanthemum, is a popular symbol in Japan, representing longevity and rejuvenation. It is used as the imperial family emblem and even appears on the Japanese passport.

-A binchotan charcoal eye mask. Made in Wakayama, Japan, this sumptuous eye mask is lined with binchotan-infused cotton, to help mitigate the appearance of puffiness and eye bags. Binchotan is a premium activated charcoal that has been revered in Japan for centuries, due to its natural purifying and detoxifying properties. The body is made from softly padded silky satin with adjustable straps for a perfect fit. Great for relaxation, meditation, airplane travel and restful sleep.

Kimonos are usually rather formal-wear but you can treat this piece as the most luxurious loungewear- a ‘komon’, ‘kinagashi’ or everyday kimono, or ‘nemaki’ aka sleepwear.
