Beautiful tableware by contemporary Japanese ceramicist Fumie Suzuki. Based out of Tokoname, Aichi, Fumie makes pieces designed for everyday use with a playful aesthetic.

These jugs have been crafted in the kohiki style, an iron-rich clay body with a light slip. The result is a powdery iron glaze with a purple tinge and a cratered effect. Kohiki originated from Korean potters and became popular in Japan with the samurai classes in the 1500's. Kohiki ceramics are said to undergo three changes as they age with use, known as ‘keshiki'.

A super cute server for milk, syrup and dressings, with a handle crafted to resemble a little bear ear. The warmth of handcrafted clay adds a charm to the table.
