This A3 print features 46 of the basic hiragana characters, each with their pronunciation in ‘romaji’ and an accompanying illustration.
It’s printed using the risograph technique: technology developed in Japan in the mid-1980s. The process produces prints with extremely vibrant, crisp inks, and sometimes these inks overlap during the printing process to create interesting and unique details.
Hiragana characters are primarily used for native Japanese vocabulary and grammatical words. Retro in style, the illustrations by Geri Coady are ideal for children and adult learners alike.
