Hasui Kawase Print: Myohon Temple
£25
Hasui Kawase is considered one of the great masters of Shin-hanga, a 20th Century Japanese art movement which revitalised the traditional ukiyo-e style rooted in the Edo and Meiji periods. Influenced by European Impressionism, Shin-hanga incorporated Western elements such as atmospheric effects and natural lighting.
But a twist: Hasui’s 1931 painting of Kamakura’s famous Myohon Temple in spring has been updated for Foundland, now with a curious black cat at the scene.
This is a fine art giclée print on 200gsm matte Japanese art paper.
Measures 11 by 14 inches.
Unframed.
Gift wrapped in tissue paper
