Himekomatsu Embroidered Patch
£8
A sew or iron-on patch made by a traditional embroidery atelier in Kyoto, Japan.
White pine aka ‘Himekomatsu’ or ‘Goyoumatsu’ is popular amongst bonsai lovers and makes up some of the oldest bonsai specimens. Each leaf has 5 needles therefore this tree is also known as five needles pine. The more cracks on the bark, the older the tree.
If ironing, use a cotton cloth in-between the patch and the iron and be careful with heat-sensitive materials.
Gift wrapped in tissue paper
