Binchotan Charcoal Sticks

Binchotan is a premium activated charcoal that has been revered in Japan for centuries as a natural and powerful air and water purifier. Our binchotan charcoal is made from pure Ubame Oak in the time-tested way at binchotan’s birthplace, the Kishu region of Japan.

This eco-friendly water purifier draws unwanted chemicals out of tap water, naturally softening and improving its taste. Simply add a few sticks to a jug of cold water and leave for 4-8 hours. The thousands of microscopic cavities in the charcoal will draw out unwanted toxins and impurities, ready to drink. Just refill the water as you use it for up to three months.

Unlike plastic filters, charcoal is entirely biodegradable and stimulates healthy soil when disposed of in the garden.
