Our contemporary soap dish is made in Japan from traditional Japanese hinoki wood: revered for its natural antibacterial properties, citrus scent and strong resistance to humidity and mould. Hinoki is characterised by a lustrous white body and straight grain, with a life-span of more than a thousand years. It’s also light and water resistant, making it ideal for use in the bathroom or kitchen.
Hinoki wood products are uncoated to bring out their best features. While hinoki is naturally resistant to water and mould, to keep the dish at its best we recommend keeping it in a well-ventilated area. If treated correctly, hinoki wood products can last a very long time.
