Sphere Clear MidMod Jar
£55
These statement storage jars wouldn’t look out of place in a Midcentury Modern-inspired home.
They’re made in Malawi by People of the Sun. People of the Sun help low-income artisans build sustainable businesses, which in turn allows them to preserve their cultural heritage and ensure age-old techniques survive for the next generation.
Resourceful with local materials, the artisans collect empty wine bottles from local restaurants, cut them to size and hand carve exquisite sustainable mahogany lids to fit, each with a unique design and wood grain.
Each jar comes presented in a recycled cardboard box made by Emmanuel and Steve. They're part of a Malawian group called Warm Hearts, recycling paper cut-offs and cardboard collected from local industries to give them new life.
Approx. 25cm high including lid. To take care of your jar, hand-wash in warm water only and don’t leave the wooden lids soaking in water. Please note that, as each piece is handmade and unique, the wood markings may differ slightly.
