Mangetsu Serving Bowl

‘Mangestsu’ in Japanese means ‘full moon’, reminiscent in the milky glaze and ashy craters on the surface of the bowl. The shape echoes traditional Japanese sensibilities.
Clean, balanced, warm, rustic, organic. Glazed inside, these bowls make a lovely gift for someone who considers their tableware and likes serveware to complement their food, feeding the eyes as well as the belly.
Each piece when it comes out of the wood fired kiln has subtle differences in flashing, light ash deposits and glaze, all dependent on how the flame has passed by and between the work.
Crafted in the UK by veteran potter Lisa Armour-Brown.
Measures approx. 18cm in diameter at its widest. Each piece is individually handcrafted so small variations in colour, shape and size will occur depending upon where in the kiln the piece was fired. Designed to be used daily, the piece is dishwasher safe but to keep it at its best we recommended that you hand-wash after use.
