Japanese Workwear Jacket
Constructed in the style of a traditional Japanese chore jacket, this unisex work shirt is loose fitting for movement, with a kimono collar, deep double lined pockets and loose sleeves, designed to be rolled up. Equally handy at the top of your garden ladder as when picking your way through the back streets of Kyoto.
An alternative to an apron for around the house and garden, it’s designed to be robust, practical and comfortable. This haori style can be worn dressed up, layered as outerwear, making it adaptable for all seasons.
Crafted from an unwashed tencel and cotton mix (that’s a good thing- means that deep rich blue colour). Tencel is formed from fibres of farmed eucalyptus wood and is a soft, highly breathable fabric which drapes well and feels a lot like well-worn denim. It also ages, like some people, gracefully.
65% tencel, 35% cotton. Designed to be worn loose. Chest: 104-112cm. Length: 77cm. Sleeve length: 58cm. Care: wash cool. We advise washing separately to other clothing or with a colour-catcher, especially the first few washes, in case the colour transfers. Don’t wear with white, in the wet, for a while. You know the rules.
