Konoha Gold Necklace
£125
This item is currently out of stock
A unique broken fragment of china, adorned with 'konoha', forest leaves, crafted into a piece of jewellery by the Nozomi Project in Japan.
‘Nozomi’ means 'hope' in Japanese. Established in the wake of the 2011 earthquake and tsunami, the Nozomi Project is a social venture situated in Ishinomaki that instructs and employs locals in jewellery making.
Each piece embraces the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi: there is beauty to be found in the broken. Pottery that was destroyed in the earthquake is given new life by the artists who turn it into wonderful jewellery.
Featuring an ornate framed pendant with an engraved floral design on the back and a thick gold cable chain, both of which are 24k gold plated.
Chain length approx. 32 inches plus the charm. Fastens with a spring ring clasp so it can be shortened.
Gift wrapped in tissue paper
