Aki No Hasu Gold Necklace
£95
This item is currently out of stock
A special and unique fragment of china, adorned with 'aki no hasu', the red, autumnal lotus flower, crafted into a piece of jewellery by the Nozomi Project in Japan.
‘Nozomi’ means 'hope' in Japanese. Established in the wake of the 2011 earthquake and tsunami, the Nozomi Project is a social venture situated in Ishinomaki that instructs and employs locals in jewellery making. Embracing the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi, pottery that was destroyed in 2011 is given new life by the artists who turn it into wonderful jewellery.
Featuring a simple and striking framed pendant with an engraved floral design on the back and a fine gold chain. The charm is made from china, and the chain and mount are 24k gold plated.
Chain length approx. 18 inches plus the drop pendant. Fastens with a spring ring clasp so it can be shortened.
Gift wrapped in tissue paper
