Vintage Shop Fan: Matsuyasugen Shoten

A branded uchiwa, or Japanese fan, was a popular way for stores in Japan to advertise themselves. You hand these decorative fans out to customers, or pop them around the store as banners. They were a big thing especially in the Showa era.

This vintage uchiwa is from Matsuyasugen Shoten and features kids playing on the beach.

Makes for a great piece of art for the wall.
