Hariko is the Japanese art of making animal figurines from papier-mâché, a craft dating back to the Mingei folk art period.
Since the Edo period, households in Japan have kept dogs as companions and to watch over the household - and this small and cute guy is no exception! Inu Hariko are traditionally given as a token of protection and good luck - in particular for children, pregnant women and families.
Comes gift boxed, and with a little red felt mat for him to stand on.
