A traditional Japanese dessert made in West Kyushu. Made by Tenzan Honpo, who have been producing premium yokan since 1952. It’s a sticky, jelly-like cake made which can be sliced. Made from sweet azuki red beans, agar and sugar, Tenzan Honpo’s is different from other varieties of yokan in that it has a thin film of sugar around the outside, adding a sweet crunch.

Enjoy this yokan as a dessert or snack with a cup of green tea.
