Large Danzome Indigo Notebook
Created by Awagami, this handmade accordion-fold or ‘orihon’ book features a textured indigo paper cover which has been dip-dyed multiple times in indigo pigment to create its graded ‘danzome’ pattern.
Awagami’s home of Tokushima is the birthplace of Japanese indigo, where farmers have been cultivating it for centuries. The humble beauty of indigo was revived during the Japanese folk-crafts or Mingei movement and, alongside its famous washi paper, the mill proudly carries on its forefathers’ indigo tradition.
Inside you will find approx. 20 heavyweight washi pages suitable for writing, drawing, collage, stamping and scrapbooking.
Measures approx. 18.5 x 12 cm.
Gift wrapped in tissue paper.
