As a chronicler of working-class England and former student of Martin Parr, photographer David Moore has been described as a British Eggleston.
In the 1980s he began knocking on doors, asking if he could take pictures of his subjects’ living rooms, kitchens, even bedrooms. The resulting photos were intimate bordering on voyeurism, imbued with nostalgia: faded Royal pictures, mantlepiece trophies and floral wallpapers, documenting life behind closed doors at this turning point in British history.
Published by Café Royal Books, an independent publisher based in Southport, England.
