Hand-forged by a father and son team in Japan’s Niigata Prefecture, we’ve picked this style for its good weight, strong steel blade and hanging loop.

The pointed, scooped-shaped end is good for weeding and planting in a greenhouse or conservatory, as well as light garden use. This is a larger and sturdier model than many others on the market at 28cm long (hello Sailor).

Sponge clean, wipe dry and store in a dry place. You can oil the trowel from time-to-time to help prevent rust and condition the wood. It’s only handheld so avoid using it for digging in heavy or unbroken soils.
